Biografi/ Biography :
Dr Masfueh joined and has been working with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1999. She is now a consultant in periodontology at the Faculty of Dentistry, UKM. As a senior lecturer and clinical specialist at the faculty, she is involved in research and training of postgraduate students and actively served the community.
Amongst administrative duties that Dr Mas was put in-charged were head of the Department of Periodontology from 2009-2014 and coordinator for Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology from 2010-2014. Currently, she is holding the post of Research Empowerment Coordinator for the faculty and is also responsible for the development of the postgraduate periodontology curriculum.
With her friendly personality, she managed to create networks and research partners both local and international. Crossed discipline with Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, UKM she has successfully co-supervised PhD and master`s students and co-authored several articles in high-impact journals, along with collaboration with lecturers from Nagaoka University of Technology and Sharjah University UEA. Her future collaboration will be with Nuclear Agency Malaysia in the development of three-dimensional bioprinting of bone scaffolds. Her recent research activity has concentrated on three areas: (1) periodontal regeneration and bioengineering of synthetic bone grafts (2) development of zirconia materials for implants and restorations; and
(3) improvement in the understanding of soft-tissue attachment around peri-implant mucosa and its response towards materials.
