Norfilza Mohd Mokhtar merupakan Profesor Perubatan Genomik di Jabatan Fisiologi, Fakulti Perubatan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Beliau mendapat latihan dalam perubatan molekul di Universiti Cambridge, United Kingdom di bawah bimbingan Profesor Stephen Charnock Jones dan Profesor Stephen Smith. Dia baru sahaja memperoleh Sijil Lanjutan dalam `Women Leading Change: Shaping our Future` daripada Institut Kepimpinan Kelestarian, University of Cambridge. Beliau kini merupakan Ketua Kumpulan Penyelidikan GUT, yang baru-baru ini dipilih sebagai `Kumpulan Universiti Penyelidikan`. Prof Norfilza ialah Penolong Pengerusi Konsortium Mikroplastik & Kesihatan Malaysia. Beliau baru sahaja menamatkan perkhidmatannya sebagai Peneraju Kluster untuk Kesihatan & Perubatan Lanjutan, pusat IDEA UKM, di mana beliau bertanggungjawab ke atas pelan strategik penyelidikan universiti. Beliau ialah Profesor Adjung di Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain dan Profesor Pelawat di Management & Science University, Malaysia.
Norfilza Mohd Mokhtar is currently Professor of Genome Medicine at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She obtained her training in molecular medicine at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom under the mentorship of Professor Stephen Charnock Jones and Professor Stephen Smith. She just obtained an Advanced Certificate in ‘Women Leading Change: Shaping our Future’ from the Institute of Sustainability Leadership, University of Cambridge. She is currently the Head of GUT Research Group, which was recently selected as a ‘Research University Group’. Prof Norfilza is the Malaysian Microplastics & Health Consortium’s Assistant Chair. She just finished her tenure as Cluster Chairman for Health & Advanced Medicine, IDEA centre UKM, where she was in charge of the university’s research strategic plan. She is an Adjunct Professor at Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain and Visiting Professor at Management & Science University, Malaysia
