   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Sazlina Kamaralzaman is a medical lecture in Rehabilitation sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She currently lectures community health topics such as health promotion, health education, topics related to disability and sexuality. Sazlina completed her medical degree at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1997 and later she pursued her MSc in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom and graduated in 2003. Sazlina`s research mainly concentrated on aspects of community health-related topics related to children with special needs and had published articles related to autism spectrum disorder and cerebral palsy. She is majorly interested in special needs education, school-based rehabilitation, assistive technology for children with special needs in schools as well as health education for parents of children with special needs. In 2015, Sazlina was seconded by the Prime Minister`s department and was part of pioneering team to set up PERMATA Kurnia, the first government initiated early intervention centre for autism. Since then, Sazlina was immensely involved with research related to education-based early intervention and has been appointed as a fellow research at GENIUS Kurnia, Ministry of Education. In July 2020, Sazlina had been appointed as the principle investigator of a national project entitled Prevalence study on autism spectrum disorder in Malaysia. This study was awarded RM2,500,000 by Ministry of Economic Affairs (MEA), Prime Minister’s Department under Rolling Plan 3, 11th Malaysia Plan (RP3, RMKe-11). Sazlina was a member of UNICEF Regional Consultation on Children with Disabilities, Advocacy Leadership Network (Autism Speaks) and International Society for Autism Research. Locally, Sazlina had provided several consultation services such as Projek Peralatan OKU with Department of Polytechnic Studies, Special Needs Education Lab, in collaboration with Ministry of Education and PEMANDU,(Performance Management and Delivery Unit),
