   Biografi/ Biography :

  • Calon merupakan seorang doktor perubatan UKM dan telah melanjutkan pengajian di bidang kesihatan awam dengan menjalani kepakaran Sarjana Perubatan Kesihatan Masyarakat, dan kemudian Phd dan posdoktoral di United Nations University- International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH). Kajian PhD beliau bertajuk Keberkesanan Kos Vaksin HPV telah menjadi polisi berkaitan vaksinasi remaja wanita untuk menghalang kanser pangkal rahim. Calon pernah menerima anugerah kakitangan cemerlang sebanyak dua kali dan anugerah Bitara Media Massa 2022. Beliau pernah memegang jawatan pentadbiran selama tujuh tahun sebagai Ketua HEJIM, kemudian menjadi Timbalan Dekan Jaringan dan Penjanaan Fakulti Perubatan, dan turut pernah memegang ketua jabatan Casemix dan Coding HCTM selama 2 tahun. Sewaktu ini beliau menjadi seorang ahli senat UKM dan penilai geran TRGS, FRGS UKM dan KPM. Beliau sebagai pakar perubatan Kesihatan Awam dan Felo Bersekutu Pusat Kepimpinan Wanita Tun Fatimah Hashim, telah terlibat dalam berbagai aktiviti dan program bersama Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM). Beliau pernah menjadi pakarunding ke Kementerian Sumber Manusia, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (mengenai isu vaksin kanak-kanak dan vape di universiti), auditor SETARA Kemeterian Pendidikan Malaysia, pakarunding Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia mengenai keberkesanan hospital kluster, kanser pangkal Rahim, case mix dan penilai proposal teknologi kesihatan bersama KKM Malaysia. Beliau sekarang menjadi pengerusi teknikal selama empat tahun untuk Technical Advisory Committee for Health Technologies, Economic Evaluation (TACHTEE) KKM bersama UKM. Beliau juga pernah dilantik sebagai pakar bidang untuk kajian Autism kanak-kanak di bawah Jabatan Perdana Menteri dan PERMATA Kurnia tahun 2018-2019. Beliau banyak menerbitkan kajian kajian, buku bersama pelajar beliau yang berkisar ke isu terkait kesihatan awam, bidang pembiayaan kesihatan dan insuransi kesihatan (health financing and insurance), coding klinikal dan case mix serta isu rokok/vape. She obtained her Master’s in Public Health (Hospital and Health Management), PhD and Post-Doctoral on Health Economics from the United Nations UniversityInternational Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH). Her study on "Cost Effectiveness of HPV Vaccinations against Cervical Cancer in Malaysia" was used in policy of HPV vaccination establishment in the country. Her main interests are in the areas of health policy, health inequality and health economics. She previously sat as Coordinator for Masters in Community Health Science, previous Fellow for the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Small Medium Enterprise Development Faculty of Economics and previous Head for the International Training Centre for Case mix and Clinical Coding (ITCC UKM) where she has been appointed as a casemix consultant, coding specialist (with UNU-IIGH and ITCC UKM) to conduct research & capacity building in Health System in developing country. She has sat on previous posts, as the Deputy Dean (Relation & Wealth Creation) for 7 years, Faculty of Medicine, as the Honorary Fellow to Tun Fatimah Hashim Women`s Leadership Center UKM and Chairman to Technical Advisory Committee for Health Technologies, Economic Evaluation (TACHTEE), MoH. She was appointed as a consultant to the Ministry of Human Resource on Burden of Occupational Related Diseases; Grant reviewers with the Ministry of Education (MoE), consultation with MoE on the issue of vape use among university’s candidates, a panel auditor for local universities with SETARA Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health on Cluster Hospital efficiency study and Prime Minister’s Department on Prevalence of Autism among children in Malaysia. She was the assistant editor for the Malaysian Journal of Public Health, a Scopus indexed journal and reviewer of other journals, locally and abroad.
