Biografi/ Biography :
Dr. Haniwarda graduated with LL.B (Hons) from the University of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom in 1997. Upon graduating, she proceeded to sit for the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) course and continued with her pupillage in a legal firm in Kuala Lumpur. After being called to the Bar in the year 2000, Dr. Haniwarda practised law in several legal firms in Kuala Lumpur in the area of civil and commercial litigation before joining UKM in 2005. She is now a Senior Lecturer at the Law Faculty of UKM after obtaining her Master of Laws (LL.M) from University of Malaya in 2006 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from University of Lancaster, UK in 2010. Her areas of specialisation are Medical Law and Bioethics, particularly on Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). Her PhD research focused on the ethics and legality of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis . Dr. Haniwarda teaches Malaysian Legal System, Reproductive Technologies and the Law and Civil Procedure at the undergraduate level and Medical Law at the postgraduate level. Her other teaching experience includes Law of Tort and Constitutional & Administrative Law (for undergraduate students).
