Profesor Madya dan Pakar Perunding Kriminologi di Pusat Kajian Psikologi dan Kesejahteraan Manusia, Fakulti Sains Sosial dan Kemanusiaan (FSSK), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Dr. Rahim juga merupakan penyelaras bagi Program Kepolisan UKM-PDRM di UKM. Mendapat ijazah doktor falsafah (PhD) dari Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) dalam bidang Kriminologi. Tajuk PhD beliau ialah Pemprofilan Psikologi dan Mekanikal Pembunuh Lelaki di Malaysia. Bidang pengkhususan beliau ialah Jenayah dan Delinkuensi, Penilaian dan Pengukuran Kriminal, Psikologi Kriminal, Profiling, Psikometrik serta isu-isu sosial dan tingkah laku antisosial. Beliau merupakan Pengasas dan Presiden Pertubuhan Kriminologi dan Koreksional Malaysia, Timbalan Pengerusi Malaysian School Psychology Association, Setiausaha Kehormat Asia Pacific School Psychology Association (Antarabangsa). Beliau juga merupakan Think Tank bagi Institut Penyelidikan Pembangunan Belia Malaysia (IYRES), Kementerian Belia dan Sukan. Beliau juga merupakan penerima Anugerah Bitara Kriminologi dari Kementerian Dalam Negeri pada tahun 2019. Sehingga April 2020, beliau telah menerbitkan lebih daripada 80 artikel jurnal (tempatan dan antarbangsa) serta menerbitkan sembilan buah buku di Penerbit UKM. Beliau juga merupakan pensyarah pelawat di Universiti di India dan Profesor Adjung di Universitas Padjadjaran, Indonesia. Beliau juga merupakan pakar rujuk bagi Kementerian Dalam Negeri, Polis Diraja Malaysia, Jabatan Penjara Malaysia, dan banyak lagi. Beliau juga merupakan ‘founding member’ kepada ASEAN Criminological Society dan juga Pan-Asia Cybercrime Investigation and Digital Forensics Interactive Cooperation. Kedua-dua Pertubuhan ini masih dalam proses penubuhan. Pada 2020, beliau dilantik sebagai Country Expert untuk membangunkan Indeks Jenayah Terancang Global di Geneva, Switzerland.
Dr. Mohammad Rahim Kamaluddin is a Criminologist and Associate Professor (Criminology) in
Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, The National University of Malaysia (UKM). He was also the former Programme Coordinator for Policing Studies (a collaborative programme between UKM and Royal Malaysia Police). Currently, Dr. Rahim is the Head of Integrity & Ombudsman of UKM. Dr Rahim is also the Founder and President of Malaysian Criminological and Correctional Association (MCCA) and Secretary General of Asia Pacific School Psychology Association. He successfully completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (Criminology) in Universiti Sains Malaysia from the Health Campus in the year 2015. In year 2011, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Science with first class honour from USM and a proud recipient of the Chancellor Gold Medal and Royal Excellence Gold Medal of USM. His PhD research probed into profiles of incarcerated male murderers in Malaysia (a pioneer study at the national level). For his PhD purpose, he had interviewed 100 convicted murderers from 10 prisons to identify their psychological traits and unravel their murderous acts. His specialisation is in Criminology, as his research interests include criminal psychology, social ills, forensic criminology, violence and crime prevention as well as psychometrics and profiling. He has pioneered a substantial amount of significant investigations and has garnered several national and international grants in the above fields. As a celebrated criminologist, he is frequently invited for Crime and Criminological work-related consultation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Royal Malaysia Police, the Malaysian Prison Department, and the Institute for Youth Research Malaysia, to name a few. Due to his exceptional contributions in the area of Criminology, Dr. Rahim has delivered keynotes and plenary address in both national and international conferences.
