Mohd Faiz Mat Saad memperoleh Ijazah Sarjana Muda dari Universiti Kuala Lumpur (MICET) dalam bidang Biosystem Engineering Technology. Beliau telah melanjutkan pelajaran ke Universiti Putra Malaysia dan memperoleh Sarjana dalam bidang Environmental Biotechnology. Kini berkhidmat sebagai Pegawai Penyelidik di Institut Biologi Sistem di Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia dan menjalankan kajian dalam patologi tumbuhan bersama felo penyelidik Prof. Madya Dr. Hamidun Bunawan.
