Dr. Azim Fitri Zainul Abidin is a Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow at the Fuel Cell Institute, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, specializing in computational quantum simulation for advanced energy applications. His research focuses on charge carrier dynamics—particularly trapping, storage, and transport—to enhance the performance of fuel cells, electrolyzers, and rechargeable batteries. Using advanced computational techniques such as density functional theory (DFT), constant potential simulations, and microkinetic modeling, Dr. Azim also investigates reaction mechanisms and kinetics that dictate electrocatalyst efficiency and stability. He is also exploring the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the efficiency of DFT simulations, accelerating the discovery of new materials and reaction pathways for enhance energy conversion and storage technologies. Dr. Azim holds a PhD in Quantum Engineering Design from Osaka University, Japan (2023), and earned his Bachelor`s and Master`s degrees in Materials Science (2014) and Fuel Cell Engineering (2018) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
