Sumber Lestari, Alam Sekitar dan Kehidupan Pintar,
Sr Ts. Gs. Dr. Khairul Nizam Abdul Maulud ialah seorang Profesor dalam bidang Aplikasi Teknologi Geospatial di Fakulti Kejuruteraan dan Alam Bina, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Beliau juga dilantik sebagai Timbalan Pengarah Eksekutif (Kelestarian) di Pusat Strategi UKM. Sebelum ini, beliau pernah berkhidmat sebagai Ketua Pusat Pemerhatian Bumi, Institut Perubahan Iklim, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Beliau menyertai Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia pada tahun 2001 selepas menamatkan pengajian Ijazah Sarjana Muda Geoinformatik dari Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Beliau kemudiannya memperoleh Ijazah Sarjana (M.Sc) dalam Geoinformatik dari universiti yang sama dan seterusnya menamatkan Ijazah Doktor Falsafah (PhD) dalam Kejuruteraan Awam dan Struktur di Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Sehingga kini, beliau telah menerbitkan 200 makalah jurnal, 46 buku dan bab dalam buku, serta lebih daripada 100 kertas prosiding di peringkat kebangsaan dan antarabangsa. Beliau telah terlibat sebagai penyelidik utama dan perunding dalam lebih daripada 100 geran penyelidikan dan 53 projek perundingan di Malaysia. Setakat ini, beliau telah menyelia 36 pelajar PhD, 15 pelajar Sarjana, dan 38 pelajar Ijazah Sarjana Muda.
Bidang kepakaran beliau merangkumi Teknologi Geospatial, GIS, dan Geomatik, dengan pengalaman lebih 23 tahun dalam penyelidikan dan perundingan. Beliau telah berjaya melaksanakan hampir 33 projek berkaitan air termasuk kenaikan aras laut, analisis geospatial, perubahan guna tanah, kualiti air, hakisan pantai, pengurusan air menggunakan GIS dan Indeks Kerentanan Pantai.
Beliau pernah menerima Australia Awards Fellowship daripada Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia, dan mengikuti program felo di University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. Beliau juga berkhidmat sebagai Profesor Pelawat di Samarkand State University, Uzbekistan, di mana beliau menyumbang secara signifikan dalam memperkukuh kedudukan global dan kecemerlangan akademik universiti tersebut.
Sr Ts. Gs. Dr Khairul Nizam Abdul Maulud is an Professor in Geospatial Technology Applications at the Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He was also appointed as a Deputy Executive Director (Sustainability), UKM Strategy Center, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Previously he was a Head of Earth Observation Centre, Institute of Climate Change, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He joins the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2001 after completing his B.Sc of Geoinformatics from the University of Technology, Malaysia. He received his M.Sc in Geoinformatics from the University of Technology, Malaysia and PhD in Civil & Structural from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Currently, he has published 200 journal papers, 46 books and chapters in book and 100 proceedings in national and international proceedings. He has been involved as a principal researcher and consultant works for more than 100 research grants, 53 consultant works in Malaysia. To date, he has supervised 36 PhD students, 15 Master`s Students and 38 bachelor`s degrees. His expertise is a Geospatial Technology, GIS and Geomatic and has almost 23 years of experience in research and consultancy. He has successfully completed almost 33 water-related projects including sea-level rise, geospatial analysis, land-use changes, water quality, shoreline erosion, water management using GIS and Coastal Vulnerability Index. He has received a Australia Awards Fellowship from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australia and has undergone a fellowship program at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. He also serves as a Visiting Professor at Samarkand State University, Uzbekistan, where he contributes significantly to advancing the university’s global standing and academic excellence. He now led high-impact research on climate change, especially on the physical and economic impacts.
