Zaleha Shafiei (2003 – ongoing), a senior lecturer and course coordinator of Microbiology of the Faculty of Dentistry, UKM, expertise in natural product, oral biofilm, probiotic and bacteriocin as well as gene expression and protein purification studies. She received her BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and master’s degree in biotechnology (UPM). She graduated her Ph.D. in Oral Biology (UM) in 2019. She published 5 articles in high impact as well as Web of Science and Scopus journals focusing on diverse field mainly in natural products and current interest on probiotic and bacteriocin. She earned two national grants for probiotic and FRGS in natural product project. She currently supervises 6 postgraduate projects and has become an internal and external examiner.
