AZNAN FAZLI ISMAIL is an Associate Professor in the Nuclear Science Program at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He earned his PhD in Nuclear and Quantum Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Dr. Aznan currently serves as the Head of the Nuclear Science Program, Faculty of Science And Technology and leads the University Research Group on Nuclear Energy and Radiological Assessment (NERA). His research spans a wide range of areas, including advanced techniques for uranium and thorium extraction, high-temperature thorium reactor design, radioactive waste management, radiological impact assessment, environmental radioactivity, and hydrogen production via photoelectrochemical water splitting.
Previously, Dr. Aznan coordinated the Master of Science in Radiation and Nuclear Safety and the Master of Science in Nuclear Safety, Security, and Safeguard (3S) programs, reflecting his longstanding commitment to both academic and research leadership.
