Dr. Mohd Shahbudin holds a Bachelor`s degree in Biochemical Engineering and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Gunma University, Japan, in 2010, with a specialization in fuel cell technology. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, and an Associate Fellow at the Fuel Cell Institute, UKM. His research interests span a broad range of energy and sustainability topics, including hydrogen technologies, fuel cell and electrolyzer technologies, biomass and bioenergy, biogas purification, and engineering education. Dr. Shahbudin has authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, books, and conference proceedings. He also holds several patents and has developed multiple product prototypes. His research has been supported by a diverse range of funding sources, including institutional, governmental, industrial, and international grants—primarily focused on advancing fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies. Based on his expertise, he has also appointed as a principal or assistant consultant under UKM Pakarunding Sdn. Bhd. in several consultancy projects.
