  • Dr. Syar Meeze Mohd Rashid ialah seorang Pensyarah Kanan di Pusat Pendidikan dan Kesejahteraan Komuniti, Fakulti Pendidikan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) yang mengkhusus dalam bidang Pendidikan Khas. Fokus kepakaran beliau merangkumi Pendidikan Islam dalam Pendidikan Khas, Pendidikan Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia (BIM), pendidikan kesukarelawan untuk komuniti Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) dan latihan perguruan. Beliau terlibat secara aktif sebagai perancang kurikulum, penyelidik, jurubahasa isyarat, penggubal modul dan penggerak jaringan komuniti OKU melalui kerjasama dengan pelbagai agensi kerajaan, institusi agama dan pertubuhan bukan kerajaan. Di samping tugasnya sebagai pensyarah dan penyelidik di universiti, beliau memegang beberapa peranan kepimpinan seperti Ketua Hal Ehwal Jaringan Industri dan Masyarakat (HEJIM) Fakulti Pendidikan, Pengerusi Yayasan Pendidikan al-Quran bagi Anak Istimewa (FAQEH), Felo Bersekutu Unit Perkhidmatan dan Sokongan OKU (UPSOKU) di UKM dan Felo BUDI di USIM. Secara keseluruhannya, Dr. Syar Meeze berperanan menghimpunkan dunia akademik, pendidikan, keagamaan dan aktivisme sosial untuk membangunkan ekosistem pendidikan inklusif yang lebih adil, berperikemanusiaan dan berpaksikan martabat insan OKU dalam kerangka pembangunan insaniah.
    Dr. Syar Meeze Mohd Rashid is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Education and Community Well-being, Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), specializing in Special Education. His areas of expertise encompass Islamic Education in Special Education, Malaysian Sign Language (Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia, BIM), volunteerism education for the disability community (OKU), and teacher training. He is actively involved as a curriculum designer, researcher, sign language interpreter, module developer and catalyst for OKU community networks through collaborations with various government agencies, religious institutions and non-governmental organisations. In addition to his duties as a lecturer and researcher at the university, he holds several leadership roles, including Head of Industry and Community Engagement (HEJIM) at the Faculty of Education, Chairperson of the Foundation for al-Quran Education for Special Children (FAQEH), Associate Fellow of the Disability Services and Support Unit (UPSOKU) at UKM, and BUDI Fellow at USIM. Overall, Dr. Syar Meeze plays a key role in bridging the academic, educational, religious and social activism spheres to develop a more just and humane inclusive education ecosystem grounded in the dignity of persons with disabilities within a holistic human development framework.
